The Feeling of Frisson - God Loves Me

One of my recent subscribers had a rather interesting message that was sent to me.

I am going to post it below and make a few comments. What I found out was when I first said this, which apparently isn’t something very many of us actually say, I had that feeling of frisson that I’ve read about. BIG TIME. Like for minutes. It was an emotional release. I saw the daffodils blooming and the cows across the street and looking at my life up to now via a very high speed camera I saw the truth of the statement instantly. There was not the slightest doubt in my mind that it is true.

What that is, is an experience that not everyone has the blessing to receive. According to a USC study, they claim only about 50% of the population have this ability, what I would call, gift. The study only had 20 people involved so in my mind it was hardly what I would call conclusive when it comes to the percentage. But since we know ourselves better than most people would, what I found was that I fit what it described.

First, they gathered 20 people and had them listen to a selection of their favorite songs. Whenever they felt a chill, they pressed a button. All 20 were then given MRI scans — and the 10 that reported reactions were obvious standouts. Their brains turned out to have a much higher volume of fibers connecting their auditory cortex to the areas that process emotion.

More fibers mean that those two areas of the brain can communicate much more effectively. It also means that, because their emotional processing centers are beefier, those people are more able to experience extreme emotions. The woman I married noticed that I was different then other men she had dated because I actually had tears running down my cheeks after watching a movie with her that had a rather sad, but endearing ending. “Buster and Billy” with Jan Michael Vincent. It was a rather interesting different kind of love story. I saw it about 1975. It was on our first date out.

This study might shed a light on the causes of the phenomenon, but it's been well documented for years. Actually, it even has a name. The phenomenon of chills or goosebumps that come from a piece of music (or from any other aesthetic experience) is called frisson, and it's been one of the big mysteries of human nature since it was first described.

That's because even if we know the actual mechanism that causes frisson — a close connection to the emotional processing center — we don't know what purpose it could serve us. But other studies have suggested some potential benefits of this kind of behavior.

One report from 2007 found that individuals who experience frisson are more open to new experiences than others, and other studies described higher levels of creativity and intellectual curiosity. In other words, the appreciation of beauty is central to what makes us human, and frisson is just a super-charged version of that appreciation.

Anyone who knows me personally know that I have always been open to new experiences, that I am creative in a number of ways and my intellectual curiosity is off the charts. When I ride my bicycle for exercise and stay in the present I find that feeling flowing through me quite often as I look at the beauty that I have been blessed to live right in the midst of the OzARK mountains.

Ten years ago I had thousands of copies ( of the middle part of this message beginning “GOD LOVES YOU” ) printed and gave them to the Directors of seven Nursing Homes in five towns and cities, here in Iowa.

The agreements were that everyone there would have a copy and it would be read to everyone who could not read, all at the same time.

No matter where I was, in my friends car, my car, home, walking, sitting, getting ready to leave a store, I felt waves of pure bliss. Each time it happened, before I had the thought question of why, my heart opened and received the understanding that many people were experiencing what they had been looking for.

This message is not copyrighted and does not need any name attached.

At the basic level of survival, this gives the people a chance to have what they need from the level of the source.

Everyone has what it takes in the sacred part of their heart. Remembering “God Loves Me“ opens their essential parts like the fuel reaching the engine. Awesomeness, an element of bliss is available every moment one brings their attention to the source of their life, God.

Your intuition is your pure eternal Soul communicating with you and can only tell you the truth.

You, are One of the very few who can share this message and save every life form on this planet. You are One, who everyone will naturally thank God for you Being You.

The message: Thinking “God Loves You” is essential, In winning this war. Remember“God Loves Me” as often as you can. Then you will be rewarded.

When you easily remember “God Loves Me” your pain and suffering will be melted away. If you feel pain, then find the point of the worst pain, and right there, think “God Loves Me” and then the pain will be melted away. It works. It is your perfect eternal Soul healing you.‬

And though I realized there was no mention of our Savior Jesus Christ in his message, but interestingly enough is that since GOD DOES LOVE US that message in and of itself may send many searching deeper and finding Christ in the process. I just know this…when I said it the first time I was overwhelmed with waves of “frisson”. And every time I’ve said in the past couple of days, it happens. Just from the thought! Because you know what? GOD DOES LOVE US! Even in our darkest hour He or whatever the Force our Creator is, loves us. Even in the midst of a storm. Even in the middle of your death from an automobile accident or some other calamity…OUR GOD LOVES YOU. The creator of the universe LOVES YOU or you wouldn’t even be alive!

Now if we could all just reciprocate that love back and LOVE OUR CREATOR WITH ALL OF OUR HEART, MIND, BODY and SOUL and LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR as OURSELVES…where would that lead the world? So do it right now… say to yourself, say it out loud, say it in meditation, say it to your spouse, say it to your children, say it to your pet, JUST SAY IT!! GOD LOVES ME! And if God loves me, HE LOVES YOU TOO. No matter WHAT.
