Do I understand by this that you believe all war to be immoral? Do I understand by this you are a pacifist? I must also ask, are you a vet? Have you been in combat?
War is something that should only be undertaken in self defense. PERIOD. The point that is being made that no matter which side you are “on” the end result is what the stranger preached. And I am FAR from being a pacifist. I’m a guardian. No, I am NOT a vet and am glad I had thought out the time I almost enlisted and didn’t. No, and no one in our lifetime out side of possibly WWII should have ever been in combat. The united States was never attacked since WWII and no war has been properly declared by Congress since WWII. I hope that satisfies your curiosity.
To be sure, all war, be it justified self defense or the cowardly politicians and international cabal drawing this nation into wars for thier own gain and profit, ALL WARS are a demonic evil and the closest thing to hell there is, this side of eternity. Like you, I am NOT a pacifist when it comes to self protection - I am glad you made that point. So your points are well taken. Having been a fmr 12 yr infantry Marine i have had a great deal of time to reflect, on the unnecessary carnage and death. I highly recommend the book "War is a racket" by WW1 Marine General Smedly Butler. I suspect we should not have been involved in either WW1 or WW2 either. It all could have been and should have been avoided. All that said, I cannot and will not depreciate those who served and fought with honor and integrity and bravery. I honor those men, as men, of the highest bravery and honor thier service. All this said, sometimes war is unavoidable, living in a sin broken world where evil exists. Sometimes war is necessary to avoid greater evils.
"All that said, I cannot and will not depreciate those who served and fought with honor and integrity and bravery. I honor those men, as men, of the highest bravery and honor thier service. " It is with sadness that I have to say, that it was due to ignorance they were in the situation they were in. Except for being drafted, which some of my generation where, there was really no reason to join. I can't look at men like Chris Kyle as anything more than a killer for the bankers. HE was part of an invading army. The people he killed were defending their country. As for War is a Racket? That's for DAMN SURE. So why play their game? Wake people up to realize that most war is caused by cowardly politicians and international cabal drawing this nation into wars for their own gain and profit. Smedley was absolutely correct. https://archive.org/details/WarIsARacket/
I am NOT going to tolerate these judgmental "I know it all types" getting on and acting like some sort of holier than thou schmuck. Toxic narcissism is not what we need more of in our world. I could puke when I read comments like this guy had posted.
"Courageous Lion" Mark, I saw your comment about deleting one of my posts and accusing me of being some “holier than thou schmuck” and “toxic narcissist.” I honestly don’t know which comment you deleted, but I can tell you this—none of what I’ve written has been in arrogance. I speak plainly, but not with pride. I speak with conviction, because I fear Yahweh and love His truth more than man’s approval.
Since you seem to take issue with what I stand for, let me go ahead and publicly post something I sent you privately, which still reflects my heart and intention:
"It’s not self-righteous to take Yahweh’s Word seriously. It’s obedience. What’s truly dangerous is redefining Scripture to suit our feelings or our culture.
You brought up the Sabbath—so let’s go there. Yeshua did not abolish it. He upheld its meaning by showing mercy, just as the Torah allows for helping a neighbor’s ox out of a ditch on that day (Exodus 23:4–5; Luke 14:5). Likewise, changing a soiled baby or pulling a sheep from a pit isn’t ‘breaking’ the Sabbath—it’s fulfilling the Law’s spirit (Matthew 12:11–12).
That doesn’t give us a license to throw out the entire command. Yahweh still commands rest on the seventh day, and we are still to honor Him through it (Exodus 20:8–11; Isaiah 58:13–14). The problem is not the Sabbath—the problem is when people pretend Yeshua nullified it to make life more convenient.
You say I can’t answer your questions. But the truth is, Scripture already has. The issue isn’t lack of answers—it’s whether we’re willing to accept them."
I won’t apologize for standing firm in Scripture. I’m not here to win popularity contests—I’m here to honor Yahweh. If someone gets offended because I refuse to sugarcoat His commandments, that says more about them than it does about me.
It’s interesting how sometimes those who claim courage hesitate to face honest discussion.
If anyone reading this is genuinely seeking to know what Yahweh commands—not what man excuses—I’m always open to reasoned, Scripture-based dialogue.

From womb to tomb we are bound to others,
Past and present,
And with each crime and every kindness,
We birth our future"

I appreciate this perspective immensely. And thanks to Kevin for his addition to it! Kudos for posting, CL.
Thank you

It reminds me of The Day of the Lord, and how we are cautioned to not pray for it, because it's going to be so terrible when it comes
