Actually it's easier. The President has the power of clemency, whereas Congress repeals laws. Trump is more likely to get business done rather than those politicians.
Great find. Another essay I found argues that what is implied in the 2nd Amendment is that "We the People" are to have military equivalent weapons to be equal or superior to a standing army:
Fantastic! Really great work CL. Let’s hope we can get back to preserving the 2nd Amendment as it was and is written. Why have so many laws been allowed to pass that violate it? Did anyone ever present it to the legislature in the way you just did?
One of the problems I see is that most people do not know about the power of the jury to anul laws that are detrimental to our freedom. ALL gun control laws are victimless crime laws. The only law that we on a jury should convict for violation would be one where a VICTIM is involved. Bryan Malinowski was a VICTIM of a serious attack by the ATF. The person who was the one in charge of the attack needs to be tried and convicted and dealt with accordingly. The way things are going, the War of the Flea is going to come upon us. https://www.amazon.com/War-Flea-Classic-Guerrilla-Warfare/dp/1574885553
I for one had no idea a jury can annul laws detrimental to our freedoms. I’ve learned a lot from you and am grateful for that. You’re one of my favorite follows. ❤️
Two things…first any judge who tells you that in a criminal case you cannot judge the law is a bold faced lying piece of crap. Here is what was understood about a jury at least up to 1828. After that they started changing the meaning. Do you think the Founding Fathers knew what the jury had the right to do? OF COURSE THEY DID!
Webster 1828:
JU’RY, noun [Latin juro, to swear.] A number of freeholders, selected in the manner prescribed by law, empaneled and sworn to inquire into and try any matter of fact, and to declare the truth on the evidence given them in the case. Grand juries consist usually of twenty four freeholders at least, and are summoned to try matters alleged in indictments. Petty juries, consisting usually of twelve men, attend courts to try matters of fact in civil causes, and to decide both the law and the fact in criminal prosecutions. The decision of a petty jury is called a verdict.
You see people, there are FOUR branches of “Government” in the US. The first branch is enumerated in the first THREE WORDS of the Constitution. WE THE PEOPLE! And we are being treated worse than the colonists were by King George! Just read the Declaration of Independence!
Do you think for one second that his prosecution doesn’t match up with THIS: He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
And another thought-provoking article! This is another 'keeper' for my files against our 'government' as I believe they'll continue to work on elaborating assumptions to reflect their goals - mere/smear propaganda. Personally, I tend to avoid personal characterizations based on personal biases including someone stating today what someone 'thought' centuries ago or why they did what they did 'back then.' So, thank you...
Appeals to Expertise/Authority are inherently fallacious of Logic. Logical certainty is not subject to anything but honest pragmatism and understanding of Propositional/Predicate Logic, which is the ability to Read. Ergo the understanding of Logical certainty only requires literacy.
The Truth is none of this was necessary to 'knowing' the Truth, as Language operates upon immutable axioms of Propositional/Predicate Logic. Understanding or knowledge of this is not Requisite for this to be Logically certain Truth.
Every literate human knows Propositional/Predicate Logic even if they are not aware. Reading is a function of Propositional/Predicate Logic. If you can Read, you know the Logic upon which Language operates, even if you do not know what it's called, or 'what' it is.
Propositional Statements are axiomatic.
Propositional Statements are inarguably certain.
Opinion is moot-point response to axioms of Logic.
Opinion is not Logic.
Logic is not opinion.
These axioms of Language are immutable.
"Shall not be infringed" is an inarguable, axiomatic, Logically certain Propositional Statement. No expertise is needed to 'know' this, only literacy is necessary.
In fact the entire 6 pages of the United States Constitution consists of Logically certain 'Propositional Statements' of Law. Period.
It is the ridiculously puerile fallacy that the Constitution is open to interpretation - that is nonsense of Propositional Logic. Law is never open to interpretation.
No Law is open to interpretation or it is not Law, but opinion. Law is a certain product of Logic. Any legislation that is not Logically certain Propositional Statements isn't Law, it is the antithesis of the very premise of Law.
The Supreme Law of the United States of America is the Constitution. The Constitution 'is' what it is 'written' to be and it's axiomatic of every word. What confuses most modern humans is the vernacular of English in which it was written. However, vernacular has no impact on Logic. The Logic is axiomatic and certain regardless of vernacular.
I guess it's great that this "expert" is honest and unbiased, nonetheless his expertise is no better than anyone who can Read. The problem we have in the U.S.A. is illegitimate educators full of bias are dishonest and delude the Truth intentionally. It's why the Department of Education is actually the State Department of Indoctrination.
State Militias are a Constitutional requirement of citizens as part of the Checks/Balances against Tyranny and are defined as such in Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution and yet the Federal Government illegally goes out of it's way to demonize Militias and foment public prejudice and ignorance against Constitutionally required citizen agencies designed to keep Representatives operating under Constitutional Law. Because corrupt Representative politicians do not want to be held directly accountable by the constituents who vote them into office.
What the majority of Americans are completely ignorant of is their lawfully requisite duty to hold their Representatives accountable to civic Law. They all expect somebody else to do it, or for agents of Government to be self regulating out of citizen civic laziness. Government can NEVER be left to self regulate - that's a foolish recipe for corruption and graft. Nobody can be trusted to be honest and do the right thing, they must be held accountable in order for them to be responsible.
Freedom is not free, it requires courage, action, accountability, and responsibility.
GET WRITING! " What confuses most modern humans is the vernacular of English in which it was written. " And that is an issue. Especially when so many have learned in government controlled schools. I see logic as part of an equation. Reason, logic and common sense allows a person to come to a critically thought out answer. Just reading fails. You need to have some of all three to be able to discern what the real truth is. I'm convinced that they don't want you to come to critically thought out answers to the problems of our nation.
I concede, knowing how to read in the 21st century, doesn't necessarily mean one knows how Reading/Language operate.
Language operates upon Propositional/Predicate Logic whether one understands it or not. When we Read, our mind is evaluating the Logic of what we are reading in order to understand what we are reading.
Learning to understand an unfamiliar vernacular of English is a simple matter of review. One can read a book to understand the vernacular of English in which the Constitution is written. It's not esoteric mystery.
Moreover, relying on public/private school for education is the problem.
Nonetheless, Libraries don't require teachers. Learning doesn't require a teacher either. We need to abolish the illegitimate unconstitutional Department of Education and start teaching our children to be Autodidactic at home.
“The problem we have in the U.S.A. is illegitimate educators full of bias are dishonest and delude the Truth intentionally. It's why the Department of Education is actually the State Department of Indoctrination.”
I love this whole comment. Thank you, Atomic Statements! I have taken the liberty of printing this out for future reference. I just love the way it's written.
I appreciate this in particular: "'Shall not be infringed' is an inarguable, axiomatic, Logically certain Propositional Statement. No expertise is needed to 'know' this, only literacy is necessary."

Thank you, I am filled with gratitude that you get it. As a disabled veteran it is deeply meaningful for me to know citizens are realizing the Truth about Representative Government and that the Representatives are accountable for this mess and We The People are the ones to hold them accountable. Cheers!
What about the un-Constitutional 2500 gun laws on the books. They are all un-Constitutional in any consideration I would guess.
If we are serious about gun rights, we should pardon anyone convicted under these "unconstitutional" firearms laws.
We’ve got to do something about them first!
No, that's what I am saying. Pardon first, then repeal.
Might be a bit more difficult, but what the heck, while we’re at the currently impossible …
Actually it's easier. The President has the power of clemency, whereas Congress repeals laws. Trump is more likely to get business done rather than those politicians.
It is easier to change the mind of one man rather than an assembly.
I love this. The incremental analysis, word by word, is priceless
The powerful do not care about the constitutionality of the 2A, they just want it gone.

Addendum: This was shortly after G. Floyd debacle
As would I.
I saw what I can only assume was BLM members casing my neighborhood. Two black men,
that were not living in the neighborhood walking around the neighborhood discussing the houses. Hmmm?
