Yes, the problem is that when you elect politicians, politicians are the ones who get elected.

I think Alexander Tytler’s cycle of democracy, where dependency is the last stage of a democracy is very accurate. It makes sense because once people are dependent on the government, they are well…dependent on the government for everything. It falls in line with what Alexis de Toqueville said, “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.” The cycle is in my first post- https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/coming-soon?r=76q58

So, my thought is let’s skip over dependency (end welfare) and skip bondage and get right back into spirituality which gives us the courage for liberty!
