First off realize this…only one person in your life has the responsibility of protecting you. YOU!
There comes a time in every man's life when he stops busting knuckles and starts busting caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take a whooping.
I have yet to reach that point in my life but understand that it now takes longer to recover than it did when I was 30 or so!!!
I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government, (wait, yes I do); I carry a gun because I understand the limitations and sometimes intentions of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry; I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone; I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love and those around them in society.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must protect themselves because police do not protect you from crime; they just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to enjoy engaging in pugilistic activities!
You won't see this on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information because they are enemies of freedom just like rust is to a gun.
Somewhere around 56,000,000 defenseless people were rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control. Yes, that’s FIFTY SIX MILLION. Do you know how much a MILLION is?
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control: From 1929 to 1953, about 20,000,000 dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control: From 1915 to 1917, 1,500,000 Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938: From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million human beings who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935: From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. They didn’t do it as soon as gun control was established, it was 13 years later when Mao who said all power comes from the barrel of a gun was in power. And he had his psychopathic ENFORCERS do his bidding.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964: From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970: From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956: From 1975 to 1977, 1,000,000 educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
DON'T THINK FOR A MOMENT THIS COULDN'T HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY!
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property. Gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
With guns, we are 'citizens'; without them, we are 'subjects'. And in our case, we are at least slaves with guns.
In a life or death situation with your life or the lives of your loved ones on the line, you don't want to just survive... You want to win and win immediately.
Think terrorists and violent criminals have rules?
Think they care whether you live or die?
They're willing to do whatever it takes to end your life.
Listen. I'm not a combat veteran but I am trained in martial arts. I have earned 2nd degree black belts in two styles. Chinese Kenpo and Korean Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do.
However, if it's illegal to carry where I am I don’t care if I am breaking some illegal and unconstitutional statute there is no way I am going to try and fight my way out of a life or death situation. A “law” has to be pursuant to the Constitution and the Constitution says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
I'm not going to make it a competition or try and score "points".
When my life or my family’s lives are on the line I'll injure, even kill anyone who would dare before they have a chance to harm me or my family.
So if you don’t want trouble, just pass me on by.
My motto: Jus Meum Tuebor = I am protecting my right to freedom C.L.
I am totally onboard with you, CL, but here is what is going on in my head:
Could I pull the trigger?
I'm no candy-ass wus. I'm in good physical and mental shape. I hike a lot. I shoot a lot. Beer cans fear me. I especially like long range varmint plinking.
I have never pulled a firearm on someone in anger or fear, much less had to fire. Could I do it? Would I hesitate, knowing split seconds count? I hear armchair cowboys saying they'd blow his head off....or, he messes with me I'll waste him with my trusty 45....but would they? We all know how cheap talk is.
Since I have never been there, I don't know what I'd do, and I doubt I'm alone in this. How can I train for a deadly force situation? I have US Law Shield and know who to call and what to do after an encounter but that is not the issue. Would I fire? I think I would....I just don't know for sure.
I thought Butch Cassidy and Sundance were killed in a shootout in Bolivia while still fairly young ; are you sure you weren’t thinking of Bat Masterson who, after his gunfighting career, went on to become a journalist for a NYC newspaper ? Or have I watched too many gunslinger movies ?
