"Considering that a good portion of the world believe their rights come from government" That is a problem that we need to make a major effort overcoming with questions asked of them so that they actually put the gray matter into some use other than a space filler. Those who consider him a traitor are complicit to murder. And as for your last sentence...that's the truth for sure. I say "home of the slave and land of the fee."

Many of my peers are unable to accept the fact that our government has committed all kinds of diabolical acts; not only to civilians in other countries, but to Americans as well. Of course, the media is complicit in keeping alive the idea that our government is beyond reproach.

It's called the "Stockholm Syndrome" and cognitive dissonance. It's very hard to breach.

Considering that a good portion of the world believe their rights come from government, freedom is tenuous at best. And another large number regard Julian as a traitor. The illusion of being the home of the brave and free is such a joke.

Mr. Assange is not a United States citizen so he cannot be charged as an American traitor. His problem was and is that he told inconvenient truths. This beyond national "embarrassment".

Truth that was leaked to him BY an American citizen. And you see what they did to him. Turned him into a "woman". I know he was sentenced to 35 years.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so ridiculous. The government betrays the American people daily. There aren't enough prisons to house all the offenders, so death sentences are more practical.

Slow death is still death. Torture is torture. It's an abomination.

I hope that soon, when we can put an end to the Covidians, we can let Assange be free.

Right on!

Talk about Class A "bullying"!! It's not a crime to publish the truth about WAR CRIMES, it's the WAR CRIMES that are the crime.

I'm sure the Aussie govt. is actually afraid to become a Gaddafi...

"Or preferably their heads. Wait…is there a difference?"

Not really, cause these types so often have the head up their (or somebody's) ass.

John Mearsheimer is an intelligent dude, I agree also, 100%.
