How is it the courts don't force them to give the money back, they get a cut too.
I used to work in counties all over SC, GA, and FLA. I'm familiar with these patterns.
A cheap poor county with new Mustangs & 4WDs & Camaros is getting the money some where. At a pharmacy where I used to fill in, it was one of the worst, the pharmacist I covered for was the Sheriff's wife. At least they din't so much as pull me over when I was speeding there.
Thank you for posting this. I read Lew Rockwell but missed this article. I had no idea this was so prevalent! An outrage! It is also deeply frustrating to see this at a time when honest and upstanding law enforcement is more needed than ever. For many decades I have thought that our "police force" needs to be re-invented... and NOT in the direction of becoming either paramilitary or mafia. We need to develop police who feel aligned with the communities they protect, and who are seen by those communities as "elders" and peacemakers and true guardians. We need a different grade of person ...
What you describe is the old guard police that were peace keepers. What we really need is to get those 13 words back in force and effect and then EVERYONE directly involved will be a peace keeper. Police should always be under the scrutiny of the citizens. And they aren't. Youtube is filled with police insanity. You should watch as Arkansas state troopers murder people for fleeing from them over a traffic stop. It's sick. https://www.courageouslion.us/p/those-forgotten-and-ignored-13-words
Property registered by the state is state property and physical Federal Reserve notes belong to the Fed. We need to stop giving them our stuff voluntarily.
Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people. Isaiah 10:1
Terrifying. Back in 2018 or 2019, I was extremely alarmed to be made aware of the extent and speed at which our police forces were being systematically militarized. My home state of Vermont, thankfully (thank you, God, for small miracles... the state has otherwise gone off its rocker) declined several tanks and other paramilitary equipment, and likewise declined to send the force over to Israel for special training. That was a real WTF moment for me. Chilling to imagine what all this preparation was/is for....
Indeed. And the problem with the solution is that if only a few decline to participate in the extortion, the thugs still outnumber us and they can use violence in the theft while the fearful onlookers just shake their heads and say, "Wow, those rebels are stupid."
Or does it really go that way? Are we only *shown* the violence on tv, and it's not real???
Excellent issue to raise concern about.
The highway bandits are the law.

And just think how little recourse would be had if they federalize LE. At least now you know where they live and what they look like.

Remember, those who stand up for their rights are also standing up for the rest of us.
Yes, and I do plenty of "standing up," as I am sure you do. But I always have more on my list!
