Nice to know Serpico is still around. Should be everyone's hero because of his stand for the truth. The movie is good but the book by Peter Maas is better. Both are tense

I might actually have to read the book. I had read an article that mentioned his unselfish deeds and did a bit more reading on him and decided to post that.

Thanks for reminding us about someone who stood up for what is right in contrast to all the cowards we see in America today.

Stupid SS keeps making me "authenticate" before I can comment...

Anyway, good story, I remember being very impressed by the movie, "Serpico," and I also read something, can't remember where it was but not the book, about the story. Pretty brave guy, and how cool that he's still around. Cheers, and hugs for Serpico himself, whether he sees this comment or not!

Duh, I searched it, LOLOLOL.

But when I came back to tell you this, it told me only paying members can comment. Apparently that's not the case...

I have no paying members so it better not be the case!

Yeah, I thought that was weird. But it seems SS doesn't want you and I doing a lot of interaction!!! OR it's just glitchy. wink, wink

Frank Serpico. A real life, live action hero. The Real Deal.

Didn't just play one on tv and film. He's Bruce Willis, Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood all rolled into one

Thank you for honoring him on his latest Birthday with this great article.

Even Serpico's ancestral homeland of Italy wanted to claim their Favorite Son by giving him Italian citizenship complete with passport

Most of the time the book is better than the movie! I think that the people would respect the police a lot more if the bad cops, and I mean really bad cops were turned in by the better cops. The problem is according to their "job" there are no good cops. Did you click the link to the meme of Dr. Robert Higgs? Just curious. I think he explains it well. WE NEED PEACE OFFICERS, not "law enforcement" officers.

There is nobody worse than somebody that's put into a position of trust and power who abuses both the trust and power entrusted to them. The best example of that today is Joseph Biden. There is nobody better than somebody that's put into a position of trust and power who stands up to those who abuse that trust and power. Serpico is a prime example. Live a long and happy life, Serpico.
