It helps to know that the etymology of "anarchy" signifies "without a ruler" and I am 100% in agreement with your position. However, the majority of people seem to feel a need to kowtow to any form of authority which, coupled with a strong gregarious instinct, generally leads to unthinking submission to just about anything !

We have two types of people - The Insies and the Outsies. The Outsies do as you say - look out there for their morality. If one is a "bad" Outsie, then he/she will behave morally as long as he/she feels he/she won't get caught doing immoral things. The Outsies morality comes from rules and regulations..... If one is an Insie , his/her morality comes from within - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - then rules and regulations aren't needed.

Our Normal for this current World is that it's being run by Outsies who rule by the language of the outsie - fear via rules and regulations and all the rest of it....lying, cheating, deceiving, anything that separates and doesn't unite....

Hi CL.

Generally agree with your assessment of government in general. But if forced into a corner, I would label myself as 'pro-social anarchist' because psychologically, I no longer distinguish between political and business domains. Both are concentrations of power with the end game of complete domination over all. Where one uses propaganda and laws, the other uses marketing and behaviorist psychology. When the two are visibly joined at the hip, the latest euphemism is 'Public Private Partnership', but from the lens of an applied linguist, that is similar to the changing social norms for iterations referring to 'people of color'. I prefer to think of these P.P.P.s, their think-tanks, and trans-national N.P.O.'s as essentially 'fascist.'

Putting my biology cap on, primatology says our closest genetic cousins, chimpanzees and bonobos, have a maximum troop size of around 200 before they splinter into mutually opposing groups. Hmmm ... that is roughly the size of Dunbar's number, and poses some very interesting implications about the roots of morality and the inverse relationship between our capacity for abstraction and our capacity for authentic empathy (as opposed to para-social skills). And then there is the small but persistent percentage of any population who are genetically predisposed to be high in Cluster B personality traits ... those pathological narcissists, Machiavellian opportunists, and predatory psychopaths among us.

I tend to agree with evolutionary biologist Ernst Mayr. In the near future, 'human intelligence' may prove to have been little more than a fatal mutation of a social primate.

Again, a reflective, if not happy, New Year to ya!

Cheers.

Hmm ... from here in Japan, above the comments to your post ends with the line 'By Doug Casey'. But just refreshed the screen and it is now gone. But seeing his name referenced in your post.
