Interesting stuff and some good comments. In the last week or so (August 2024) the transAmerica hiker Matt Hengst has often crossed the Arkansas river in west Kansas and maybe eastern Colorado and it's not much at that point, but you can imagine it's bigger elsewhere and was much bigger in the olden times.
I can't be convinced that our creator was an astronaut, but I have my suspicions that we are a manipulated species that may have been some sort of experiment by aliens. The crop circle phenomenon is one that I've always wondered about. The part in the first Thrive dealing with them is quite interesting. And that whenever world affairs start going south there seems to be a lot more sightings and strange phenomenon connected to aerial vehicles not of this world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW--rJDqyhs
I'd be interested in hearing why this God couldn't be an astronaught? You say that we were made in God's image (our creator).Serious Question: Did God have a penis and a virgina? If God created us why, according to the heavily edited bible, did he spend so much time as a genocidal maniac murdering his creations?
Where did I say we were made in God's image? And as for your "If God created us why, according to the heavily edited bible, did he spend so much time as a genocidal maniac murdering his creations?" Good question. Which is one of the many reasons that I'm not so keen on using the bible to beat people over the head with. If you would like to see where I lean try checking out http://deism.com SOMETHING made the creation, including the alleged aliens you speak of which are not "god". Did you check out the video link? I'd bet not.
I agree Sir. You didn't say it...I skipped straight to the bible saying that we are made in the creator's image. I couldn't find the video link but I will go the work on deism. I work on the question that there is an alleged god...and aliens are far more likely than a chemist, scientist, philosopher and surgeon...But, it is my opinion that the ancient cultures, those we are still seeking more information on...were our creators. The pattern of inhuman looking figures on ancient wall paintings do, in my opinion, point to visitors with knowledge still beyond ours.
The pictatorial evidence of flying machines, helmeted beings, and symbols.
I'll stick with my opinion that more research will provide us that the angels bringing news of a virgin birth were aliens sent from a ship that stayed in one spot above a certain point.
I'm challenging the bible every day. I challenge your assertion that every living thing was destroyed in one flood except for one ass licking family. But if we suppose the story is true,as I've said it makes this god bloke a genocidal maniac
"The Bible is not Black and White in what sense?" If you are Baptist they take it literally. If you are a Pentecostal, they take it spiritually. If you are any of the other hundreds of denominations, they take it the way they interpret it. Why is that? I have no doubt the bible is useful in many ways, but there are also some rather challenging stories in it that make no sense if you use your reason, logic and common sense which you are typically told to leave at the church thresh hold. I will PM you privately as I don't want to start a debate on the issues in public. I hope that is OK.
So what do you supposed ever happened to the 10 tribes that went into dispersion? Where are they today? And why does Jesus say he only came but to the “lost sheep of the house of Israel”? Matthew 15vs24 And if there were 12 tribes, where are all of them today? What if those who are claiming to be of Judah aren’t? What if they fit the scripture in Revelation 3vs9? Just curious…I’m always curious. I don’t see the bible in black and white. I see lots of hidden knowledge that needs to be unlocked.
I have been reading stories of Viking adventures and one came to the fore today. It was of Bjorn Ironside, the son of Ragnar Lothbruk tricking his way into a Roman city by pretending to be dead to get inside a Church. I've heard the story before but one talks of Harold, and another if Ragnar Lothbruk doing this to get into Paris...I guess that's how Bible stories are created
Maybe. How would we really know? The original “canon” of scripture was 80 books. The protestant reformation removed 14 of them leaving us with 66. What was “wrong” with the other 14? I’ve never been able to find a satisfying answer.
I wonder if they told of Jesus having brothers, and a wife. Children even. Perhaps they went into more detail about his relationship with a prostitute.
Sometimes a lot of these questions make me wonder. Since we weren’t there, how do we really KNOW anything is not just a “story” someone wrote back then.
There are many pointers towards the Roman scribe Paul writing many of the stories because certainly few of the disciples, being fishermen would have been able to write. And which author does not embellish?
“would have been able to write” Don’t you mean NOT been able to write?
Yes, most church goers put more emphasis on Paul’s writings then that of Jesus himself. They twist and distort so much of Paul’s writings to pacify their own convoluted beliefs on a lot of subjects. He’s the go to writer for most of Churchianity. I was politely asked to leave a church I attended because I didn’t see Romans 13 through the eyes of the majority of that particular group. I saw it through eyes of the likes of the founding fathers which is taboo today.
Forgive me for disagreeing. To KNOW something you would have had to experience it with your senses and even then those can be called into question. Believing something is what you are describing. For instance, all the research and comparison you can muster cannot PROVE outside of the actual experience that man landed on the moon. I’ve seen Superman fly too.
Another instance, I may BELIEVE that the flood written about in the bible that Noah was spared from covered the whole earth, but my research comes to the conclusion it was a localized flood to which I have to say I BELIEVE. Yet do I KNOW for sure? Is the earth 6000 years old? Has the moon ever stood still? Am I to believe that our creator had bears eat children because they laughed about Elijah’s bald head? Do I know that to be true?
I'll challenge the bible till I die...but let's suppose it's true. It simply confirms that this god of the bible was a genocidal maniac on a scale Hitler, Moa, Pol Pot, Stalin, Ghengis Khan and Vlad the Impaler together could only dream about.
Archeology is a great tool to advance some understanding of history. For instance in a thousand years time people will dig up the ruins of Washington and find scraps of information about it being the Capital of Democracy. When we all know it's the center of cartel criminals
The Flood cannot be verified world wide by scripture. Floods there were but not in the same century.
Do the documents prove how beings with superior knowledge of physics and construction were able to complete all the unexplained Wonders of the World in Turkey, South America, the Middle East? Definitely, knowledge from a distant culture.
The prophets? Were they spectators at the crucifixion and the rising. I mean were they there or were they history's equivalent of CNN?
The sad part is the convoluted beliefs that drive the multi denominational Christian world into confusion. For instance, look at what the common belief of Romans 13 was at the time of the founding of the US compared to what that same chapter is today. Literally opposite meanings, driving many “Christians” into false idol worship as they bow before the psychopathic control freak parasites that rule us through the “state”.
Quite intriguing.
Isn’t it interesting that the number 17 keeps coming up all over the place?

That's a different take on it, I like it.
Sounds like the bringers of the Ark were aliens...God was an Astronaut

Is it true that the bible talks of people 10 ft tall... Which would tie in with the Book of Enoch and the visitation of beings from another planet

Enoch gets a lot of attention nowadays.
Sometimes a lot of these questions make me wonder. Since we weren’t there, how do we really KNOW anything is not just a “story” someone wrote back then.
Exactly. One thing that has never changed is man's capacity to exaggerated and write to uncover out own genius. It was as true then as it is now.

Is it known how long after the crucifixion people started writing about it

I'll follow my own path thanks
I certainly do understand.
