They Preached Liberty
Ever wonder what kind of preachers were around during the War for Colonial Independence? These kinds of preachers...
(click the graphic above for the 1990s version of “They Preached Liberty” by the group “Legacy” C.L.)
There's a spirit in our land raising up the kind of man
With a burning in his heart to be free.
Like the preacher men of old he can't be bought he can't be sold
What did they preach?
They preached Liberty!!!!
To a people who loved their liberty
Liberty to exercise all their God given rights granted them at the time of their birth
The right to keep bear arms and pray worship God on land and say
from that law we will keep our people free, through the jury we'll guard our liberty!
They called the King into accounting for his disregard of law
Told their people not to yield before his threats
For God established rulers to protect the rights of man and ordained
government to fit into his plan to maintain his peoples Liberty!!!
Liberty to exercise all their God given rights granted them at the time of their birth
The right to keep bear arms and pray worship God on land and say
from that law we will keep our people free, through the Jury we'll guard our Liberty!!
We need such preacher men today to show our people the way to redeem their lost Liberty!!
The fires of hell cannot prevail against one man who will take the stand
from the pulpit expose tyranny and teach his people Liberty!!
Liberty to exercise all their God given rights granted them at the time of their birth
The right to keep bear arms and pray worship God on land and say
from that law we will keep our people free, through the Jury we'll guard our liberty
Liberty to exercise all their God given rights granted them at the time of their birth
The right to keep bear arms and pray worship God on land and say
this Jury says not guilty we choose to acquit, the state was wrong to charge him this law is not fit
for a people for a people who love their Liberty
for a people who will die for Liberty!!!
The Preachers of Freedom have disappeared. Had they been alive today they would have acted in the same way today's*preachers respond to the destruction of the Republic. They would have sat at a computer and written about the lack of freedom. Then they would have monetizes their fears for freedom. Then they would have worried about being demonetized.
How about we do what they did in their day...fought an oppressive government.
You might consider a follow-up about the root cause of why many pastors today are different, because I've never encountered anyone who knew. For the first couple hundred years of 'America,' 0% of pastors weren't "sold," as you say. Now it's 99.9%. You can prove this by going to any state's division of corporation website and search any church name. You'll see the 'dirty little secret' that they are all "sold out." Contrast that to Upriver Church in Idaho. It's one of only about 5 I've found that is not, after looking up hundreds (even the quaintest, smallest old rural churches. You can search how this started recently under LBJ and grew. I hear so many people pound their fist about pastors and not get it until I share this white pill. Then they see there is a literal and general "conflict of interest." Thankfully this is still not the case in many nations. Thoughts???
