You might consider a follow-up about the root cause of why many pastors today are different, because I've never encountered anyone who knew. For the first couple hundred years of 'America,' 0% of pastors weren't "sold," as you say. Now it's 99.9%. You can prove this by going to any state's division of corporation website and search any church name. You'll see the 'dirty little secret' that they are all "sold out." Contrast that to Upriver Church in Idaho. It's one of only about 5 I've found that is not, after looking up hundreds (even the quaintest, smallest old rural churches. You can search how this started recently under LBJ and grew. I hear so many people pound their fist about pastors and not get it until I share this white pill. Then they see there is a literal and general "conflict of interest." Thankfully this is still not the case in many nations. Thoughts???

And this is the reason I say this: Those coming to this land from elsewhere -- especially those from cultures and histories completely absent of any connection to the Western Christian tradition -- should be made to read, understand, and vow to live by the ideas and ideals of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 -- and 𝒏𝒐𝒕 the Constitution. Uphold and defend the ideals of liberty in the Declaration. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 what it means to be American. Leave the oath-swearing to a document describing government to those joining that government.
