Unless God comes down in person and sets things straight I have NOT THE LEAST BIT OF CONFIDENCE IN THE GOVERNMENTS of MEN be they CLAIMED to be on GOD'S LAW or any other form. PERIOD. I look at the 10 commandments and wonder WHO is going to decide what day the Sabbath is and what the penalty shall be for violating it. WHAT MAN or MEN ar going to make that decision for me? After all, EXODUS 35 vs 2 says it should be DEATH if you work on that day. That's Old Testament Toryism. Jesus died to free us from Satan's moral law. Jesus is our advocate before the throne of God. Satan, our adversary, prosecutes us with the moral law (his name means prosecutor). That's why we don't need 591 laws to follow, like the ancient Hebrews did. These are two different issues entirely. The first has to do with the remnant's individual salvation, the second with whose ethics God intends for us to govern our lives. No need for Jesus whatsoever. It turns out, men cannot keep 591 laws, that forgiveness is for everybody, and so are the spiritual gifts; love, joy, wisdom, and mercy. Those gifts are always present and available for everybody who will claim them through prayer. But there are those people, who as you said, have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. They are agents of the Pope and the Crown. Jesus freed us from Satan and his lock-step puritanical system of holiness. Because of Jesus we are free, independent, ethical actors. What is the difference between your understanding of Christianity and the beliefs of the Pharisees that Jesus debated with? With so many examples of the tyranny, despotism, and cruelty of this nation -- toward its own citizens, but mostly blatantly toward those considered "enemies" -- it was only after Sep 11 that I knew. I really knew then that if the people of this country did not wake the FU after that obvious fraud, we were doomed.

Having been reduced under the absolute despotism of the State of Utah's authoritarian's, and finding that oppression continues across the country, where troops of robbers are set at liberty to steal, kill and destroy citing immunity with impunity, is not a "close to home issue" I know that I am not safe in what I consider to be my home (albeit temporary). I definitely agree with your last statement, however if Jesus is your example, then it doesn't matter what people say, if they are choosing not to follow his example. I was baptized into his death (the death of the man of sin) that I might live in him. He also made it clear that whosoever will save his life will lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for his names sake and the Gospel, shall save his life. (Mark 8:35) We are already walking dead men, but what do we gain from imitating our enemies?

My reason and logic is that you were most likely to have been trained as a soldier, like so many of us have, and from tactical point of view, I understand that logic all too well. But Gideon and Sampson had faith in the unseen against overwhelming odds, much like we see today. But my experience of having been a soldier was that no matter how many battles I put behind me the war never ends. It seems that no matter how many life's we vanquish there will be an endless supply of enemies. No sane person who has witnessed the carnage of war wants any part of it, but then that belief or faith in the unseen should anchor the soul to that which is the reality of God, and what is possible when you believe.
